A look back on 2024 and what a year it has been! It’s been a year of growth, many uncomfortable moments, and lots of change. I always joke that it can only go up from here at the end of each year. 2024 was by far the most transformative, but also the most challenging.
Now, it’s hard to group everything into specific groups so I’m going to highlight a few key moments from 2024. I ended 2023 optimistic and hopeful, but the reality was anything but. January was one of the toughest months. I was in a toxic workplace awaiting a job offer, unsure of what to do when my lease was up, and feeling the comparison creep.
February was an exciting one. I got the job offer while I was at Disney! We were there for only one day, but it really just lifted my spirits. I’m not a full blown Disney adult, but will never turn down the opportunity to visit. I signed for an apartment in my dream neighborhood and looking back it was one of the best decisions I made.
March became overwhelming. The prospect of the upcoming move had me stressed and I realized I couldn’t sustain Premurosa in the way that I wanted to. I’m usually pretty good at handling change, but this was different. I was disappointed in myself more than anything.
This was compounded with my birthday in early April. Turning 35 hit me harder than I expected. I am happy with my life and wouldn’t trade a lot of the experiences I have been granted, but I always wanted to have a family. I really did think by this point, I would be married with kids, but that’s just not God’s plan for me.
As summer approached, I really took advantage of my new apartment’s amenities. I spent many days and evenings up by the pool and enjoying my rooftop. However, I think this was the busiest summer of my life. I had multiple work trips, a few personal trips, and a plethora of concerts and games. I hit two new countries and took my first ever solo trip.
After the whirlwind summer, some realities hit. This was one of my most expensive year’s yet and truly only one trip was personal. I wanted to get more serious about my health. So, I started my wellness journey based on these reasons.
I decided to restart Premurosa because honestly it brings me so much joy. I got to do my first pop up and it just motivated me to continue the progress. Adding that to my plate on top of a very busy fall/winter was not for the weak. I had activities nearly every day and while I thrive on being busy, I knew that I need to find some balance.
Luckily, the best place for me to do that was on an impromptu trip to London. My sister had a back surgery and needed some help. While I may have preferred to be home leading up to Christmas, it really helped me focus on what I wanted to do this next year. It has me excited and I’ve already decided on my motto for 2025 (coming soon!).
Now, a look back on 2024 wouldn’t be complete without a blog reflection as well. I’m blown away by the support. We more than doubled the visitors to the blog! The fact that thousands of people are reading is a bit unbelievable to me. Plus, we started actually making some money off ads and commissions. It’s not anything earth shattering at this point, but it’s the motivation I needed! A full reflection wouldn’t be complete without my top 5 lists.
