A Look Back on 2023

Let’s look back on 2023. If I could describe it one word, it would be rollercoaster. There were some high highs and some low lows. Through it all, I am grateful. Every challenge provided a lesson and allowed me to get to know myself better. Every celebration was just a little bit sweeter.

The year started out with a bang. I started Premurosa, had a family wedding and a trip to Europe. I got to check off a bucket list item, seeing the Bulls play in Paris. It was also my first time in Paris! I loved it and can’t wait to go back when it is warmer. More about that trip is here. And then came the third ankle surgery. I’ve documented my ankle journey here, but there third surgery in four years was TOUGH.

The spring, I really just recovered from my ankle surgery. Being told that it would take a year and half was hard and let’s just say the first 9 months there wasn’t a ton of progress. I truly think my ankle and those challenges really affected my year. I was discouraged by a lack of progress which made the other challenges harder. My mental health definitely hit it’s worst spot in my adult life in the summer.

Things started to turn for the positive in the late summer. In September, my mom and I took a trip to San Antonio (recap here). I traveled for work, got excited about planning my Premurosa holiday collection, and started to get my groove outside of work.

Work got pretty tough in the fall. The workload was high without an end in sight, plus a few other things. At that point, I just made a decision to prioritize myself. In November, I joined Studio Three and just challenged myself to work out. I have fallen in love with the classes which will definitely continue into 2024.

I am excited about 2024. There are so many good things in the works and the vibes are high. I’ll share more about my 2024 plans in a future post. A proper look back on 2023 must include the top 5 read and the top 5 most shopped posts.
