When I first moved to the city in November 2014 (which still feels like yesterday!), I lived on the edge of Lakeview. Through one of my first days exploring, I passed by Frasca. From the outside, it looks cute and cozy. It was the perfect spot for a girls night.
Frasca, just like my visit to Tuco & Blondie, was the part of my Dine it 4ward booklet. Great food and a great deal? Check and check! We both started with the Italian margaritas. The Italian difference is Campari. To start, we got the meatballs. Maybe it’s just me, but I can never go wrong with meatballs at an Italian restaurant. Three large meatballs come with toasted ciabatta bread.

For our entrees, we both got pasta. Frasca is known for their pizza, but on a cold night pasta seemed to be the right call. My friend got the tortellini. That garlic cream sauce looked impeccable. For my dish, I asked the waiter to recommend one between a few options and he suggested the rigatoni. The rigatoni looks simple on the menu: sausage, tomato cream sauce, and peas. What you can’t tell from the menu was how flavorful the dish was! It was one of those dishes that tastes even better the next day because those flavors continue to build and meld. I can’t wait to return another time soon.
