Perspire Sauna: A Review

Perspire Sauna opened up in my neighborhood in October 2024. Perspire offers personal private sauna. I’ve been going now for five months so I figured it was time for a proper review. I’ve been on my wellness journey so I’ve been exploring different ways to improve my wellness. I had heard great things about Perspire from friends.

When you visit a Perspire, you receive a private room and can personalize your experience how you want. You can choose red light therapy, a variety of color lights, the temperature and the ambiance. They offer a connected TV where you can play music or watch Netflix.

I’ve typically not been a big sauna person, but I was intrigued by the convenience and the benefits offered. Perspire leans into seven benefits:

  • Relax the mind
  • Detox the body
  • Burn calories
  • Recover faster
  • Boost immunity
  • Rejuvenate skin
  • Improve sleep

Since the sauna is private, you choose how you like to be in there from fully clothed to a bathing suit to your birthday suit. I personally never went above the minimum temperature of 135 degrees since each session is for 40 minutes. It really is a long time!

My Experience

I found the sauna to have two big benefits for me. There was a noticeable improvement in my skin. Typically, I have pretty dry skin, but I didn’t experience dryness when going to the sauna. Then, when I took a one month pause in my membership, my skin was back to dry. It was so surprising!

The sauna put me more in tune with what was going on with my body. If I felt like I could barely sit there for 5 minutes, that was usually the sign I was fighting something off. The amount I was sweating was a sign of how hydrated I was.

I really do think this was a positive aspect to improving my wellness. Unfortunately, I do think it is a bit pricey and not something I will be able to maintain year round. I had to make some hard wellness decisions and ultimately chose to do pilates over my sauna membership. The sauna to me felt like a nice to have vs. a need to have.

Now with that being said, I do recommend Perspire Sauna. They are available on ClassPass so I do hope to occasionally include sauna sessions in the future. You can check out more wellness posts here.
