The 2025 Chicago Restaurant Week is almost upon us! Running January 24 – February 9, this annual event features special menus from top restaurants across Chicago and the suburbs. I’ve been going for about 10 years now and love finding a great deal and trying a new restaurant.
From the first restaurant, Mercadito, to the tens of others since then, it’s one of my favorite ways to explore Chicago’s restaurant scene. I get pretty serious about my approach each year. I scour nearly every menu and evaluate it on a few criteria: the menu variety, are you getting a deal? (yes, some aren’t even a bargain), and would I want something in each course. Plus, I have a shellfish and tuna allergy so that is taken into account with my picks.
