One of life’s perfect combinations is tacos and margaritas! For a unique take on Mexican favorites like street style tacos, Broken English Taco Pub is a Chicago restaurant to try. With three locations in Lincoln Park, Old Town and the Loop, there is probably one not too far from you. I personally visited the Lincoln Park location as it is just a few blocks from me.
Even if you don’t know what Broken English was, you would absolutely notice the restaurant. That’s because when you walk in or even just walking by, the first thing you will notice is the décor. It is bright and vivid. A true can’t miss as any time that you see it. For some reason, it always reminds me of the movie Nacho Libre. The vibes are immaculate, especially during the warm months. We went on a really beautiful night and it was completely packed inside and out. During the warm months, they have the ability to make the restaurant an open air location if the weather allows so no matter where you sit you feel like you are outside.

To start, it was easy for me to order a frozen strawberry margarita. Honestly, a frozen strawberry margarita is the best type of margarita, hands down. Once we dove into the food, we ordered the Nacho Mama’s Nachos. Honestly, these were some of the best nachos I’ve ever had. These nachos are fully loaded in the best possible way. I loved the way they had black bean puree in addition to the chicken and numerous cheeses. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken tacos. Overall, I love beer battered chicken and they were so flavorful even without the ghost pepper mayo.
