Tata’s Tacos

Now Tata’s Tacos would have drawn me in with the name alone. Seriously how fun is it to say?! It’s fairly new to the Lakeview neighborhood. In fact, they had just received their liquor license the weekend we went. On that beautiful weekend, the draw of their patio made it an easy choice!

You probably hear tacos and think Mexican food. What makes Tata’s Tacos different is that they identify American food with authentic Mexican flavors and that absolutely comes through on their menu. We started with the margarita. They offer two sizes, both 18oz and 27oz, so of course I had to get the 27oz. Their salt rim was one of the prettiest I have seen and the drink was delicious as well.

We started with the classic staple guacamole. Being their first weekend with a full bar, it was good to have something to snack on as the food was coming out slowly as they were adjusting. My friend got to the quesadillas. They were so large and she said they were good! I got two tacos. The star of the show was the Sirena. It was bacon wrapped shrimp, pickled red cabbage, chili aioli, and pico de gallo. Seriously one of the top tacos I have ever had! Lastly, we got the elotes because I can never pass them up. They loaded that cotija cheese on! Overall, this is a great neighborhood spot.
