Figo Wine Bar

For those of you who may not know, I have lived in Lakeview for seven years now (that time has flown way too fast!). Seven years means I have tried a good majority of restaurants in the neighborhood and fortunate enough to have been multiple times. Figo Wine Bar opened up in 2017, but I am shocked that it took me four years to get there. Wine + Italian + Tapas = my dream come true

You can transported to the rustic Italian countryside inside. Not to mention that they make all their pastas in house, source ingredients locally, and they have an extensive cocktail and wine list. Before I dive into the delicious food, there were a few tips I would give to anyone trying out the restaurant. With COVID-19, they seemed to be understaffed. It took about 10 minutes to get a waiter to come over. Also, you had to order all your dishes at once for the kitchen. The best part about tapas is being able to leisurely add items as you see fit so that was a bit of a shock. Lastly, water isn’t free and you will need to purchase it during your meal.

Even with those tips and learnings, I will definitely be going back. We started by splitting a bottle of Prosecco with a side of water. We decided to order four different dishes. The first which I sadly didn’t snap a pic before we devoured it was the brusquetta. The artichoke spread with sweet peppers and goat cheese was surprisingly flavorful and refreshing. It was my favorite dish we had! In order of my favorites, we also ordered the arancini, short rib tamale, and fettucine. To finish it out, the tiramisu with the caramel was magnifique! Everything was flavorful and a good portion size for tapas. I can’t wait to visit again because there are at least five things more on the menu I want to try!
